Blok will officially launch in Gothenburg the 27th of august. Blok made an entrance as a progressive digital broker service at the Finnish market in 2017. We have since mediated more than 2200 homes to a shared worth of over five billion SEK and saved our customers more than 125 million SEK in fees. With automated paperwork, transparent bidding and a unique valuation algorithm, it’s possible to keep fees to half of what a traditional broker takes. Our customers are also considerably more satisfied after a finalised deal compared to the industry average.
The idea behind Blok
The idea came in 2016 when global CEO of Blok, Rudi Skogman, sold his apartment. He felt a lack of transparency in the process and what he was paying for. Therefore he started to think about how digital solutions could improve the process. One year later, in the spring of 2017, Blok made its first transaction and three years later the company had over five billion SEK in turnover.
“After a successful launch earlier this year in Stockholm, we felt it was time to expand the service. We have been eying Gothenburg, a nice city I’ve spent a lot of time in, for a while and we’re now looking forward to offering a more effective broker service in more areas in Sweden.” says Ludvig Hjalmarsson, CEO of Blok Sweden.
How does Blok work?
We’ve built Blok to make it easier for you to sell and buy an apartment. We handle the photography, object description and advertising - just as a traditional broker would. But thanks to digital signings, floor plans in 3D, automated valuation and simplified paperwork we’ve managed to reduce the repetitive work. We’re also the only broker to be as transparent to show the broker fee when you visit the website.

The home is then shown by a skilled viewing host. Bidding takes place via Bloks platform where every bidder is verified by e-identification to minimise the risk of false bids. The digital solutions makes it possible for us to offer half of the broker fee compared to traditional brokers.
We want to be the best at offering a transparent process when trading apartments. We are therefore proud to be able to present how the broker fee will be calculated and the absolute maximum fee of the transaction. We have also built our platform so that everyone has to verify their identity before bidding. By doing this we hope that Blok can contribute with a clear, easy and transparent process.
